Davisville is named after John Davis, who came to Canada from England in the 1840s. He was appointed as Davisville’s first postmaster and founded the Davisville Public School. Most of the area's single-family homes were built between 1920-1930 to provide homes for the many immigrants who came from the United Kingdom at the time. Today, Davisville Village is an affluent, diverse community in Central Toronto.
